I was in the bookstore this week and stopped to look at all the new 2016 calendars.
There are so many of them - dogs and nuns and pigs, gardens and minions, fairy tales and star wars... and lots with inspirational quotes about intentional living.
I spent quite some time reading those, looking for some that might spark a chord, that I could add to my "pull-out" list for when I suddenly feel overwhelmed and need something to put me back in a good frame of mind :)
As we head toward stem cell transplant we've had to make seemingly endless decisions - find somewhere to live, sort out finances, think about a will, talk to insurance people, talk to members of the transplant team... lately I've found it overwhelming and have "cried me a river" of tears.
In the bookstore today I found this quote:
There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.
Celia Thaxter.
I'm teaming this quote with some photos we took down at the river last week. It was a beautiful day, the river was completely still and the reflections were just amazing. We spent ages sitting by the bank and hanging over the bridge just looking at the sky and trees reflected in the water.
Eternal summer. God guarantees it no matter what happens in this world.
